Automotive Consultations
A professional service designed to guide vehicle builders through the complexities of modifying and certifying their vehicles. During the consultation, the vehicles build plan is reviewed and analysed, with all relevant regulations and compliance requirements identified and explained.
Guidance is provided to ensure adherence to applicable standards throughout the build process. As part of the service, a tailored report specific to the vehicle and its modifications is provided, granting a clear roadmap to certification.
Preliminary Inspections
An inspection service designed to assess modified vehicles against the applicable standards and regulatory requirements. During the inspection, the modified vehicle is assessed to ensure that all modifications comply with the applicable Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and regulations.

A detailed inspection report is provided, highlighting any defects or items of non-compliance that require attention prior to certification. This service can be completed both on and off-site.
Vehicle Certification and VASS Approvals
Modifications for light and heavy vehicles are inspected and assessed in accordance with the National Code of Practice, the applicable Australian Design Rules and State Requirements.
If applicable, the vehicle undergoes same-day testing. Once compliance with the regulations has been determined, the vehicle is certified and a VASS Approval Certificate is provided. This service can be completed on or off-site.
Business and Project Support
JEC works alongside industry leaders in automotive development projects, such as the development of modified fleet vehicles for commercial entities, Second Stage Manufacturing approvals, RAWS evidence packages, workshop training, and Low/Full Volume compliance packages.
Pre-Purchase Inspections
JEC offers on-site and off-site inspections for those looking to purchase modified vehicles. It is becoming increasingly common to find modified vehicles for sale that have not undergone certification, or perhaps certified in a different state/territory.
Buyers can be assisted through an inspection to inform them of what may be required to certify the vehicles modifications prior to purchasing. This service can be completed remotely for those looking to buy interstate.
